Dayi Hu is the President of the Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC), President of the China Committee of Cardio-Cerebral-Vascular Diseases of GSC, a past president of the Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians (CCCP), Chief of the Intervention Centre at Peking University People’s Hospital, Dean of Clinical Research Institute at Shanghai’s Fudan University and a member of The International Academy of Sciences for Europe and Asia(IASEA). Professor Dayi Hu is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotheraphy (ISCP), the editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Cardiology, an international board member of Journal of Clinical Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Nature Cardiovascular Medicine and also many other national and international medical journals. Professor Hu has been the editor-in-chief or major translator of 50 professional books, three of which have been published in United States.

Dr Eteiba is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, member of the American College of Cardiology, member of the American Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, Elected Council member of RCPSG and Medical Advisor of the International committee of Glasgow Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

He graduated from Osaka university Medical School in 1966 and joined a research group of Lipid Research Laboratory at Osaka University in 1969. He became Professor of the second Department of Internal Medicine of Osaka University in 1991 until 2003 when he moved to Sumitomo Hospital as Director and Emeritus Professor of Osaka University. He has long worked on hyperlipidemia and obesity. He has discovered several novel disease entities such as "Autoimmune hyperchylomicrolemia" and "HyperHDLcholesterolemia caused by CETP deficiency"　He was also interested in body fat distribution with respect to morbidity. He developed the method for fat analysis using CT scan and established the concept named visceral fat syndrome in which cardiovascular risks cluster by visceral fat accumulation. He also investigated biological characteristics of adipose tissue and found that adipose tissue abundantly expressed bioactive substances. (Gene 190:227, 1997, Nature Med 2: 800, 1996) During these works, he discovered "adiponectin" which may be one of key players in the mechanism of obesity-related diseases. He is currently President of International Atherosclerosis Society.

Guy H Fontaine has made 17 original contributions in the design and the use of the first cardiac pace makers in the early 60s. He has serendipitously identified ARVD during his contributions to antiarrhythmic surgery in the early 70s. He has developed the technique of Fulguration to replace surgery in the early 80s (technique used during 30 years in Paris). He has been one of the 216 individuals who have made a significant contribution to the study of cardiovascular disease since the 14th century, one of the 500 greatest geniuses of the 21th Century (USA Books), one of the 100 Life Time Achievement (UK Book). He has more than 900 publications including 201 chapters in books.. He is the reviewer of 26 scientific journals both in basic and clinical science. He served as a member of the Editorial Board of Circulation for 5 years, after reviewing articles for this journal during decades. He has given 11 master lectures of 90 minutes each in inland China in 2014. He has recently developed new techniques of hypothermia for brain protection in OHCA and Stroke. This technique has been fortuitously used after resuscitation of his wife at home in June 2011 with absolutely no neurologic deficit despite 6 minutes of no flow. He has also invented a high-tech device which can be considered the ultimate in palliative care by preventing unexpectedly awaking after ordinary sleep. This device was mostly designed for major neurologic disorders.

Aris Lacis, cardiac surgeon, professor, MD, PhD graduated Riga Medical Institute in 1961. General and thoracic surgeon in P. Stradina University Hospital in Riga (1964–1969). Thoracic and cardiac surgeon in the Latvian Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery (1969–1994). Since 1994 until 2012 – the head of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Clinic in University Children’s Hospital, Riga; since 2012 – a consulting professor of this Clinic. Vicepresident of Latvian Society for Cardiovascular Surgery. President of Latvian Association for Pediatric Cardiologists. Author of 395 scientific publications, 3 monographs and 13 patents. Investigator in more than 10 clinical trials including cardiosurgical procedures performed under deep hypothermia, hybrid procedures etc. In May 2009 have been used transcutan intramyocardial delivery techniques for treatment (idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathia) the first 3 months aged patient in the world with autologous bone marrow derived progenitor cells. In November 2010 the first patient with end stage pulmonary hypertension received intrapulmonary implantation autologous stem cells.

Dr. Naranjan S Dhalla is a Distinguished Professor, Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He served for 19 years as Founding Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Canada. He has been working in the field of Experimental Cardiology with a focus on pathophysiology and pharmacology of cardiac dysfunction and he was one of the first investigators to identify membrane defects during the development of heart disease. He has published 819 full length papers, which are cited more than 26,702 times in addition to editing 56 books, and training 163 fellows and graduate students in biochemical and molecular medicine. As Secretary General and then President during 1972-1996, he developed the International Society for Heart Research for promoting cardiovascular research. He has been the Executive Director of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, which he founded in 1996 for promoting the cardiovascular education and prevention of heart disease and he was elected as Honorary Life President in 2016 of this organization. For the past 32 years, he has been Editor-in-Chief of an international journal "Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry" He has has received 199 honors and awards, including 6 Honorary Doctorate Degrees and 4 Honoris Causa Professorships from different Institutions. He has been invited to give 521 talks at various conferences and institutions around the globe. He is Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Member of the Order of Canada, Member of the Order of Manitoba and Inductee into the Winnipeg Citizens Hall of Fame.

He is expert in ultrasound regional anesthesia and President and founder of SIAATIP, Società Italiana di Anestesia, Analgesia e Terapia Intensiva Pediatrica (www.siaatip.it), President and founder of SUA - The Society for Ultrasound in Anaesthesia - Italian Chapter and Società Italiana di Partoanalgesia. He invented a new innovative technique in simultaneous noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring and ventilation through proseal laringeal mask airway and transesophageal doppler called TED-PLMA Technique, and a new innovative ultrasound abdominal block called "UAT - Ultrasound Abdominal Tri-block" (a combination of TAP Block and Ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric blocks).
